We're about to release a PC game called The Bounty: Deluxe Edition. It's basically a super-duper upgraded edition of a game that we released last year. Now, we're talking with a publisher, and finishing up development.
The thing is, it'll be digital only, which is, as you may know, par for the course with indie titles. The problem with that is, you can't hold it in your hand. You can't put it on your shelf. It's merely a file on your computer, or tied to DRM account like Steam. I'm not fully comfortable with that. I want a retail quality disc, in retail quality packaging, on my shelf. I'm thinking that you might too. So, here's what I'm offering. I'm offering a limited print run based on preorders through this GoFundMe campaign. This will be it. Now, this is more than just a preorder system, it's also to keep the lights on, so to speak. Having to shuffle projects around to get this finished has taken its toll, as did the piracy issues surrounding the original game. Therefore, we're offering the limited release physical copy. We're also offering a chance for YOU to be in the game. A reward level will have you turned into a playable character skin. Of course, you can make a contribution just because you want to do so. The tentative release date is November 1st, 2015. The game is very nearly finished, and is being beta tested at the moment, with few assets remaining to be built. The actual release may well be earlier, but the better-safe-than-sorry bet is on 11/1/15. Where is my contribution going? Your support will be covering studio costs (asset creation, overhead) for the remainder of The Bounty:Deluxe Edition's development, and for the production cost of your game. |
